This safe and responsible method is a suitable
practice for the entire pregnancy. The classes explore the
advantages of an active birth, therapeutic stretching-yoga exercises
and the practice of all the upright birth positions, which eases the
birth process.
The emphasis is on a natural safe birth, but also on how to cope with difficulties, methods of intervention and birth at home or in hospital, and ways in which water can be used during pregnancy, labour and birth.
Stretch-Yoga is about self-help. A revolutionary practice which cuts through cultural conformity and dependence, to bring the individual in touch with his or her own powers, to have faith in the truth that is found within and confidence in the body's own natural strength.
This method is designed to develop a feeling of
well-being through gentle and progressive stretching and breathing
exercises. A supple flexible body, increased muscle tone and stability,
good posture and balance, (especially for anyone suffering from pelvic
instability and back pains) deep breathing techniques for labour and
birth and relaxation to calm and quieten the mind can undoubtedly
increase a woman's chances of a successful pregnancy, labour, delivery
and a speedy return to fitness after the birth.
It provides an excellent preparation for birth, encouraging a positive and healthy attitude.
We recommend an early start, between 16 and 20 weeks.
The course includes a class reunion, which is held
every six weeks. This is a wonderful chance to see other mothers from
your class, and meet their new babies.
Time: Tuesday 17.30-19.30, Tuesday 20.00 to 22.00 or Friday 10.00-12.00.
The door opens 15 min. before the class begins.
